On October 16 of 2005 I was in San Francisco, hired to photograph a gathering of University of Chicago business school students with economics icon and Nobel laureate Milton Friedman. The group lunched together and Friedman’s salad plate, removed from his place during the course of the meal and left at a nearby station, was fair game for a photograph.
Possibly he didn’t like frisée. I prefer to think that it was some kind of forecast via California cuisine.
